Blue and Brown Chain Link Rug – Hand Knotted Wool, Thick High Pile Moroccan Shag

A blue and brown chain link rug, hand-knotted in thick Beni Mrirt wool. Chains of interlocking links in natural undyed dark brown run the length of a warm ivory field: wide links alternate with narrow ones, and each narrow link passes through the ends of its neighbours, so its soft dusty blue centre is divided into small panes. The links are knotted a little taller than the ivory and blue, so the chain stands in soft relief.

The blue is wash-tested and only ever touches the brown, never the ivory, and it stays a quiet accent, about a twentieth of the rug. A chain reads well at any length, so the same design comes as a living room, bedroom or dining room rug and as a hallway runner up to 22 ft. It is also woven in brown and oat, with no dye at all.
