Blue and Cream Scallop Pattern Rug – Hand Knotted Wool Moroccan Shag, Beni Mrirt Area Rug

A blue and cream scallop pattern rug, hand-knotted in thick Beni Mrirt wool. Rows of soft denim blue arcs, each about 2 in wide and 2 ft across, overlap like fish scales on a creamy ivory field. Every row is offset by half a scallop, and the arcs run off all four edges. The blue arcs stand slightly taller than the cream, so the pattern shows as gentle relief.

Two lots of denim wool are woven in on purpose, so the blue shifts gently from arc to arc, like faded indigo. Fresh and calm, it suits a living room, bedroom or dining room, and as a runner it carries the pattern down a hallway.
