The upper end has open cream space between bent black lines. The lower section holds a much larger dark shape, broken by small cream marks and outgoing bands. This is an asymmetric drawing, not a repeating stripe.
Print the reference or rotate it on your screen beside a room photo. Compare the dark section near the entrance with the dark section farther into the room. Neither is automatically correct; the useful choice depends on which view you want to emphasize.
Start with the rug’s rectangular edges parallel to the main furniture. The internal diagonals already create movement, so turning the whole rectangle on an angle may complicate circulation in a narrow space.
If a long sofa sits against one wall, test the rug slightly toward that seating group. Centering it between the walls can leave an awkward strip between sofa and rug when furniture occupies only one side. Judge the relationship to the seats as well as the architecture.
Mark the rug outline and walk your normal route with furniture in position. Check a door through its full swing, and allow room to stand beside a chair. A raised wool edge needs to work with how you move through the space.
Keep the most frequently used route clear of furniture feet and loose objects. Confirm finished thickness and suitable underlay before ordering where clearance is tight. An attractive drawing cannot compensate for an inconvenient layout.

At close range, the dark and light shapes resolve into loose wool fibers. Their direction changes the small highlights and shadows without changing the drawing. Plain upholstery lets both the graphic composition and the shag surface remain noticeable.
A warm rust seat or a quiet natural wood surface can sit comfortably beside the cream and black. Test your own textiles together; matching every black finish precisely is less useful than checking how the room looks as a whole.
The reference has a restrained bound edge rather than prominent tassels. Confirm the finishing for your selected size and account for the entire rug footprint. Leave enough visible floor to open storage and reach the seating comfortably.
Tape out 150 × 240 cm for a compact seating area, then compare 200 × 300 cm and 240 × 300 cm if the room allows. Keep the furniture in place during the comparison. Choose the width that connects the seats while preserving the route through the room.
