Blue Green Rug – Sea Glass and Ivory Geometric Hand Knotted Wool Moroccan Shag, Beni Mrirt

A blue green rug, hand-knotted in thick Beni Mrirt wool. Solid eight-point stars in a muted sea-glass blue green, each about 21 in point to point with a small round centre of undyed dark brown, are set in an even half-drop across a warm undyed ivory field and run off all four edges, with plenty of ivory between them. The stars are knotted a little taller than the ivory, so they stand in soft relief.

The sea glass is a greyed eucalyptus tone, softer than teal, and the field stays about 70% ivory, so the rug brings a cool, calm colour without taking over a room. It suits a living room, bedroom or dining room, and as a runner it carries a single line of stars down a hallway. The eight-point star is a classic Moroccan geometric, woven by hand in the Middle Atlas.
