Brown and Cream Checkered Rug – Hand Knotted Wool Moroccan Shag, Carved High-Low Beni Mrirt

A chocolate brown and cream checkered rug, hand-knotted in thick Beni Mrirt wool. The squares are drawn by hand rather than ruled, so each one wobbles slightly, and the rug is carved high-low: the cream squares stand at full shag height while the chocolate squares are cut lower, so every edge shows a soft step in the pile.

Deep chocolate and undyed cream give the classic checkerboard a warmer, more grown-up look in a living room, bedroom, dining room or study. Both colours are natural wool, with a gentle tonal variation from batch to batch, so the rug looks rich and alive rather than flat.
