As their name suggests, the Moroccan Azilal rugs are originated from the rocky and high Azilal region, situated in the heart of the high Atlas mountains.

Handmade by the women of the region, it is made of raw wool. By alternating composed patterns of one single knotted line and one or two woven lines.

Also In terms of design, Azilal crafts showcase great creativity. It combines erratic and abstract patterns with different Berber symbols and diamond-based graphics.

They are often decorated with colored materials such as wool and cotton. Also, they’re tainted with vegetable dye or threads of recycled cloth of different beautiful colors.
