Ivory Textured High Low Rug – Tone on Tone Hand Knotted Wool Moroccan Shag

An ivory textured rug, hand-knotted in thick Beni Mrirt wool with no dye at all. Large plain ivory blocks are laid in running bond, like stone coursing, and set apart by narrow joints of soft natural oat. The blocks are knotted about twice as tall as the joints, so the whole rug is a tone-on-tone high-low relief: the pattern is drawn in pile height first and colour second, and it runs off every edge with no border.

It is a quiet rug that rewards a closer look, and the relief catches low light beautifully. Because the coursing simply continues to the edges, it scales to any size, from a 3 ft wide hallway runner to a 14x20 ft room rug, and it suits a living room, bedroom or dining room. It is also woven in oatmeal, with oat blocks and camel joints.
