Terracotta Textured Rug – Hand Knotted Wool Carved High-Low Moroccan Shag, Beni Mrirt

A terracotta textured rug, hand-knotted in thick Beni Mrirt wool and carved like old flagstone paving. About 29 straight-sided plates in two slightly different terracotta tones are separated by 2.5 in channels of deeper brick, carved well below the plush plates. No two plates are the same shape, and the channels meet only in T-junctions, as in a hand-laid courtyard floor.

The two terracotta tones and the carved channels give the rug depth without a pattern to tire of. It pairs naturally with cream, olive and walnut, and works in a living room, bedroom, dining room or a sunny reading corner. The wool carries a natural tonal variation from hand-dyed batches.
